We built the app to connect designers and adjacent industries with creative events throughout the 9 counties of the SF Bay Area including San Francisco Design Week.

  • By joining the community, you’ll get early access to register for events before they sell out! DesignBayArea will release it’s own events in the app first before sharing with the general public.
  • Publish your own events to the App Platform: track your registrations, use our registration or your own external link. Export your list of attendees right from the app!
  • Join Topic Groups to engage with other members of the community.
  • No more visiting multiple websites or joining endless digital newsletters just to find events

Using the App for Free:

  • Download the app for free on Apple Store or Google Play. Register an account with password and email. Set up your profile.
  • Once your account is registered, don’t forget your profile photo (or logo if you are a brand) and a background banner.
  • When you get to the Supporting Donation screen, choose one of the donation tiers below or click the “Maybe Later” button to continue as a general user.
  • You can always come back to the donation tiers should you change your mind, by going to your “Profile”, the click the gear at the top of the page, and select the first dropdown item “Supporting Donations” to choose your tier.

Why do you require so much information?

  • When you download the DesignBayArea app, you are joining a community of industry related professionals who are interested in attending events and engaging with one another.
  • We need this information to better understand the community we are serving and how it changes over time, but also to better connect you with opportunities.
  • We will never sell or share your information, ever.

About Supporting Donation Tiers:

If you are enjoying broader access to SF Bay Area designers, brands, and events on our calendar, through our new Mobile App, or if you are a fan of our annual event San Francisco Design Week, consider becoming a Supporting Donor!

App Users who donate receive a Badge created by a local design legend for 6 months to show off on your profile page along with an “identifier” such as “Design Leader” or “Brand”. Badges help you connect with the local community and show how awesome you are. This is your chance to elevate design and adjacent fields in the San Francisco Bay Area by donating to DesignBayArea.

To donate, choose one of the tiers below offered at an “early adopter” rate.

Need to update your Donor Tier or profile information?

Select the following location where your original donation was submitted:

  • Mobile App Users: Open the DesignBayArea Mobile App on your phone. Login using the credentials you used to set up your App Account. Select “My Profile” then click on the “Gear Icon” in the upper right hand side. Click on “Supporting Donation”.

Is my supporting donation tax deductible?

Check in with your tax professional who can help with your deduction calculations. Design Bay Area is a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization with headquarters in San Francisco, California. Our federal ID number for donations is 87-3400460. Upon completing your donation via Stripe through the app, you will receive an automated receipt. If you would like to request a receipt contact us here.

Is my supporting donation payment secure?

The security and confidentiality of your information is our highest priority. We use Stripe for donation payment technology to protect your information and provide a safe and secure environment for online donations. We will not sell, trade or share your personal information with anyone else, or send donor mailings on behalf of other orgs.
