Drawling is an art, books, and creative supplies shop in Oakland’s Temescal Alley. The kid-sister shop of JH&F, we specialize in gifts and goods that all parents can get on board with and that “KiDs oF aLL aGeS” can appreciate.
Founded by local lettering artist and author (and parent of three small children) Jessica Hische, the shop is curated to spark creativity and set you up to be the best gifter on the block. We carry art supplies and stationery products for kids and grown-ups as well as colorful artwork, craft kits, useful gadgets, creative apparel, and a selection of beautifully illustrated kids‘ books.
While we don‘t sell the products we curate for our physical store online, you can purchase artwork and books from Jessica through her shop.
Hours & Location
We’re located in Oakland’s historic Temescal Alley shopping district a few doors down from amazing ice cream (including vegan!), across the way from your next snazzy haircut (for people ages 5 and up), and around the corner from some of the best food and cocktails that Oakland has to offer. Temescal Alley has been a premier shopping destination for folks all over the bay for more than a decade and we’re beyond excited to be joining their wonderful community of local makers, creators, and curators.
Drawling is opening this December and will be keeping the following shop hours to start:
Monday & Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday – Friday: 12pm to 6pm
Weekends: 11am to 6pm
For information about the opening and to follow along with our progress, follow the shop on instagram! And while you’re at it, follow our sister shop JH&F and maybe even the shop owner Jessica Hische if you like fancy lettering and logos and stuff.
