Join us as we kick off Year of Design during our Rivian x Design Bay Area Electric Weekend with a FREE workshop at the intersection of art, science, and environmentalism with Seelie Studio! You’ll learn all about how to urchin dye, mix a magical dye bath, and leave with a Climate Beneficial Verified wool beanie

Purple urchins (strongylocentrotus purpuratus) have destroyed 95% of California’s kelp forests. In this workshop, you can help the kelp while also deepening your connection to nature.

You’ll learn about “the urchin problem” and become part of the solution by creating natural dye from purple sea urchins. Margaret, the founder of Seelie Studio, will share how her creative practice led her to urchin dye, teach you about this revolutionary dye practice, and empower you to combat climate change with beautiful color.

Thanks for joining us at the intersection of environmental responsibility and artistic expression.

Limited spots available! Materials and Beanie included!

This workshop is for adults 18+

Natural Dye Workshops for Everybody.

At Seelie Studio, we believe you cannot do natural dyeing wrong because even the ‘mistakes’ look cool.

Our workshops are designed to provide a space for you to deepen your connection to nature through creativity. Whether you’ve been dyeing for decades or you’ve never experimented with natural color, all are welcome. Stop and smell the flowers with Seelie Studio, where environmental responsibility meets artistic expression.
